At El Naturalista, we view social responsibility as a pillar of our corporate philosophy. Conscious of the many problems confronting disadvantaged populations and aware of the importance of supporting education as an engine of development, our department supports many different projects for the betterment of society.

The Atauchi Project was the beginning of El Naturalita’s humanitarian efforts. Since 2004, the Atauchi Project has worked with several non-profit organizations to help develop and promote educational programs for needy children in Third World countries; this project encompasses all our international efforts. For more than 5 years this work has made many people smile, and has involved the entire El Naturalista team: office staff, sales team, communications and marketing agencies, design team, manufacturing personnel, stores, and customers are all embraced the supportive spirit of this initiative.

El Naturalista’s first contribution, which amounted to 17.000 Euros, was delivered during the recent company convention in June.

Since the inception of the Atauchi Project, El Naturalista has raised over 150,000 euros for two education projects in Peru. One in the province of Piura, in northern Peru, which helped rebuild schools in rural areas, has already been completed. Currently we are working on the construction of the City of Hope, a shelter that provides a home for abandoned and disabled children in Arequipa.

El Naturalista is also commited to improving the lives of people close to our production facilities and general offices, which is why we work with organizations, as Aspace and Ardis, to help disabled populations in Spain. Additionally, we sponsor a group of rescue dogs in the province of Rioja.

Recently, El Naturalista has been working with the 4th edition of the Program Madrid Rumbo al Sur, a project that aims to motivate and educate young people in the field of international cooperation and aid development by having them travel to different places in Africa. For this project, El Naturalista has designed a boot especially for the expedition that will take more than 200 people on a journey through different parts of the African continent. As sponsors and makers of the expedition shoe, we will also distribute various other models of El Naturalista shoes to the entire team.

Throught the Atauchi Project and other actions, El Naturalist embraces the commitment to improve our world and its disadvantaged peoples.

NASCA, a collection inspired by the Nasca Lines in Peru, was the first of our shoes to help fund the Atauchi Project; one euro for each pair of NASCA shoes sold has been contributed to the initiatives sponsored in that Andean country.

With the advent of our on-line store in 2007, El Naturalista decided to increase its commitment to the Atauchi Project by extending the donation of one euro to all the shoes sold on our website.

Starting 2009, El Naturalista has decided to expand its humanitarian efforts by designating 0,10 € from all our shoe collections, thus representing a significant increase in funds available for social projects financed by the company. We also decided to support initiatives in other developing countries. The Atauchi Project will expand its outreach to other countries and will travel to Africa to support education projectsAs a result, the Atauchi Project has entered into a partnership with the Spanish non profit, Amigos de Tanzania, an organization that shares El Naturalista’s vision of the importance of education as a fundamental pillar of development.

Working with Amigos de Tanzania we are building a library, sponsor summer school for boys and girls, and help complete work on the Baobab Children’s Home located in Arusha, in the north of Tanzania. The home currently houses 19 children of various ages.

Already more that 150, 000 people have joined us in actively supporting these important social projects that help to inspire and motive our company.

Thank you very much to everyone
